Just below the wheel, a spring tensioned friction sleeve is used to provide a smooth feel to the driver and prevent motion of the wheel due to inertia without an input from the driver.
A durable worm gear drive, supported by two, 3/8" ball bearings underneath the wheel, is coupled internally to 3-independent and redundant electronic devices for unsurpassed safety and reliability.
All electronics are completely isolated from the forces applied to the wheel, and a unique clutching device is incorporated to protect the mechanism and to allow the "straight ahead" position of the orthotic to be adjusted to any location on the wheel. __________________________________________________
The flexibility of the software allows the turn-ratio of the W-Series to be programmed to the OEM steering wheel by a Certified Dealer.
